Ten teams of technological entrepreneurs will this year compete for an incentive of a total of EUR 20,000 within the “mts startup acceleration” program, which Telekom Srbija launches in cooperation with a partner organization SEE ICT. Apart from the pecuniary amount, teams which show most readiness to develop their business idea will be given tutor support by Telekom Srbija, along with the services necessary for the development of digital products – mts optical access to the Internet and a cloud server.

The “mts startup acceleration” program is intended for the participants of the Startup Academy – a three-month educational program which is organized by SEE ICT for a sixth time. With the support of lecturers, successful entrepreneurs from Serbia and the region, the teams will develop various business ideas, from a specialized social network for young mothers and the use of artificial intelligence for the sale and purchase of used cars, to the solution which automatizes software development.

“Good results of the first 'mts startup acceleration' encourage us to more actively enter cooperation with the startup ecosystem. We have gained insight into the process of innovations in various fields and different models of development of a business idea. On the other hand, we have contributed expertise to the process of managing various data sets and growth management. We are aware that teams need strong support at the very beginning before they start gaining first customers and first revenues, and this is why we are here“, said Milan Simić, Telekom’s executive director for IT support and ICT services, at the opening of the Academy.

As a member of the five-member jury, Mr. Simić will participate in the selection of maximum three teams, which will share funds in the amount of EUR 20,000. The other members of the jury are a representative of the SEE ICT association, and three successful entrepreneurs from Serbia. The criteria, which the jury will use, are the team's ability to develop its own business idea, innovativeness and uniqueness of their solution, and strategic access to product development. You can find more information about the requirements for participation in the mts startup acceleration here.

Telekom Srbija, along with its partner organizations, wishes to encourage the development of technological entrepreneurship and the IT community in Serbia. The company shares the commitment of the SEE ICT association, which is dedicated to training 100,000 IT experts through its various educational programs until 2020. Telekom Srbija is also a national partner in eight Startit centers throughout the country, in which the SEE ICT association implements its educational programs, organizes expert conferences, meetups and other specialized events.
